Meet the Los Angeles Rams Post-Hype Breakout Star

One of the leaders on defense, Los Angeles Rams captain Alec Ogletree is slowly gaining the respect around the league. He has the passion, leadership skills, and of course football mind-set to control the Rams defense during difficult times. Now it’s his turn to crank up the volume as he should be hitting his prime years with the Rams.

Ogletree may not have gotten the attention he deserves as he is on a losing football team who is trying to turn themselves around. After fans have been learning his name on Hard Knocks and All or Nothing, it’s time for Ogletree to have a breakout year. Around the NFL Editor Greg Rosenthal would also agree, as he considers Ogletree a late breaking star for the Rams.

Anyone who watched the new season of Amazon’s “All of Nothing” should gain an appreciation for Ogletree’s leadership skills. It feels like he’s been in the league forever, but the 25-year-old should be just hitting his prime.”

“His heady understanding of the game is a great match for new defensive coordinator Wade Phillips, who should bring out the best in a lot of Rams defenders. (Robert Quinn, who’s had trouble staying on the field since nearly winning Defensive Player of the Year in 2013, is another candidate to tick up under Phillips.)”

Ogletree, the 30th pick in the 2013 draft, appeared to be on his way to a breakout season in 2015 before he suffered a season-ending ankle injury against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 4. Now, Ogletree has a new team that is aimed to retake the West. 2017 is the year for Alec Ogletree.
